Press Pause Play
I was looking through the website of the telecommunication company Ericsson because tomorrow I will give a short introduction into their project 2020 – Shaping Ideas at the university. And then I stumbled upon this other amazing project they are supporting: Press Pause Play.
“The creative landscape is changing. Some talk about revolution, others about a natural evolution. These changes affect everything from creation to distribution, from artist to consumer.
[Press Pause Play is] a film about the change in production, distribution & consumptiomn of creative works.”
I think it is a great idea to look at the developments that are going through the creative field right now. Like David Girhammer says: everyone can create something, everyone is a consumer and creator at the same time. And this development opens possibilities, chances but also problems and risks. It’s incredible who is attending at the project: Scott Belsky, Seth Godin, Ze Frank, Sean Parker, Andrew Keen, Hank Shocklee and many more creative minds.
The production company behind the project is House of Radon from Stockholm. They also made some other great projects. I like the way they work (for example you can download every video they are showing on their website). And at Press Pause Play everything is documented on their website, for example the ppp identity that makes them pretty personable.
And the best:
“We will release rough edits and interviews as well as the final film free for anyone to use, broadcast and distribute. PressPausePlay will be an observation, a testimony and a tribute.” (from ericsson.com)
That’s awesome, but the final release won’t be up until early 2011. But I will stay tuned a keep reporting about the project.
