Cooking in New York
Wednesday, March 30th, 2011
During our two weeks fantastic food trip eeergh.. vacation in New York, we had some fabulous meals. Some of them were created by ourselves. The first week we stayed with a long time friend of mine and with his girl friend. Fabs is a foodie like me. We don’t only love going out for dinner, but we are both always on the hunt for the perfect recipe for pizza, chili con carne, or pasta.
Within 14 days in New York, we created some fantastic dishes. On the second day we had steak by one of the best butchers in New York: Ottomanelli Brothers.
But we also created some other dishes, like hand made ravioli, lobster (from Chinatown – in combination with the cheapest beer – Pabst Blue Ribbon), and we had tacos with pulled pork in a self made chipotle. Delicious – more photos on flickr.
New York is a dream when you are a foodie. You have so many ressources, shops, cooking classes, such a high passion for food all around the city. Eataly, Chelsea Market, Chinatown (Manhattan & Brooklyn), Brooklyn Kitchen, Ottomanelli’s, Dean & Deluca – just to name a few.
